"Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth." This famous phrase from the Sermon on the Mount is one of Jesus’ most well-known teachings. And it’s a teaching that has been interpreted in many different ways over the centuries. Some Christians believe that this phrase means that those who are meek or mild-tempered will be rewarded in the afterlife. Others believe that it means that those who are meek will be rewarded in this life by inheriting the earth. So, what did Jesus really mean when He said this? First of all, it’s important to understand the meaning of the word "meek." The Greek word that is translated as "meek" in English can also be translated as "humble." And humility is not weakness. In fact, true humility is actually a sign of strength. Those who are truly humble are not trying to elevate themselves above others. They are not trying to prove how great they are. Instead, they are content to let God be in control and to give Him all the glory. So, when Jesus said that the meek will inherit the earth, He was not saying that they will inherit it in the sense of owning it. Rather, He was saying that they will inherit it in the sense of being blessed by God and living in His blessings. In other words, those who are humble and seek to honor God above all else will be blessed in this life and in the life to come. They will inherit His righteousness and His peace. And they will inherit the earth itself as a place where they can live in His presence forever.

La loro fede è forte e sanno che Dio li ricompenserà nell’aldilà. I poveri in spirito non hanno paura della morte, perché sanno che la morte è solo un passaggio alla vita eterna. Cristo stesso è venuto sulla terra per dare la vita eterna a tutti coloro che credono in Lui.
